wachgeruettelt...

...Gestern Nacht gegen 4.40h wurden so ziemlich alle in Delhi & Umgebung unsanft wachgeruettelt- ich dachte zuerst ich traeume, als ich sah dass unser Haus puddingaehnlich hin-und her schaukelte- aber es war kein Traum- es war ein ERDBEBEN der Skala 4.3 (!) und es war verdammt unheimlich! Einige von uns Maedels schrien sogar kurz auf vor schreck...keiner von uns hatte je ein so heftiges Erdbeben live miterleb... Wir sassen mal wieder innerhalb weniger Sekunden zu 5. auf 1 Bett und beruhigten uns gegenseitig :-) Zum Glueck gab es keine Fortsetzung in der gleichen Nacht jedoch sind die Menschen hier in Indien fest davon ueberzeugt dass es ein noch heftigeres Nachbeben in den kommenden Tagen geben wird...und zugegebenermassen macht das schon ein ziiiiiemlich mulmiges Gefuehl in der Magengegend...aber wir werden sehn...

Tremors shake Delhi, rattle people.
A moderate earthquake shook the national capital and surrounding areas at 4.43 am on Monday morning, making people jump out of their beds, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the tremor recorded 4.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was the Delhi-Haryana border, the IMD said.
The quake rattled doors and windows, making many run out of their homes on a cold winter night. But there were no aftershocks.

NEW DELHI: A minor earthquake rattled New Delhi and adjoining areas early on Monday morning, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. An official with the Indian Meteorological Department, which monitors earthquakes, said the 4.3-magnitude quake was only felt in New Delhi and the surrounding areas. It struck at about 4:43 a.m. The epicenter of the tremor was at the Delhi-Haryana border at 28.6 N latitude and 77.9 E longitude. In October 2006, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir, which is claimed by both India and Pakistan. That quake killed some 80,000 people. Most of the deaths were in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir.
